Our school

Welcome to Samson

At Samson Primary School, we nurture inquisitive young minds and immerse them in positive learning experiences. Our quality teaching provides your child with social and academic skills while fostering a respect for the environment and promoting tolerance and resilience.

We encourage our students to be:

  • engaged, enthusiastic and successful learners
  • resilient
  • aware of their personal and social responsibilities.

Our positive reputation in the community attracts many students to enrol in our school from outside our area. A focus on technology means, a high ratio of computers, interactive whiteboards in classes and students using technology applications.

At Samson Primary we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by implementing waste reduction, energy conservation and environmental education programs across the school. These programs focus on our responsibility to sustain the environment. Our gardener maintains the vegetable garden, worm farms and free range chickens. Our canteen uses the eggs and produce for lunch orders each day.

Our school curriculum provides students with the opportunity to participate in specialist Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education and Health and Italian classes. The Instrumental Program run by the School of Instrumental Music offers trumpet, trombone, flute and guitar programs to selected Year 6 and 7 students.

The school participates in interschool sporting events as part of the Cockburn District Schools Sporting Association (CDSSA) throughout the year.

Students are allocated to one of four houses: Lockyer (green), Dampier (yellow), Stirling (purple – previously white) and Flinders (red). All children from a family are placed in the same house.

We run house competitions throughout the year to reinforce positive conduct. In Term 3 students participate in our athletics carnival.
